ALINE CRISTINA SOTERRONI

Aline C. Soterroni is an environmental science researcher working on the quantitative impact assessment of climate policies in Brazil through land use modelling. Her research interests focus on evaluating and designing policies related to environmental preservation and sustainable agricultural production. Her research interests are also focused on the socioeconomic and ecological outcomes of different pathways to net zero at a range of spatial scales with a particular interest on understanding the value and the limits of nature-based solutions in achieving net-zero over the long term. Aline's research has contributed to providing science-based results for stakeholders and policymakers. Having a Master's and a PhD degree in Applied Computing from Brazil's National Institute for Space Research, she has experience in applied mathematics and computing with a special focus on regional economic land use modelling. Aline has been the lead developer of GLOBIOM-Brazil model, a regional version of IIASA's GLOBIOM model since 2012.
